Ilhabela hosts first edition of TEDx with support from Hauz Engenharia
Hauz Engenharia is one of the supporters of the initiative, which will focus on sustainability, innovation, and environmental preservation.
On October 6, 2025, the first TEDx event in Ilhabela will take place at the Baía dos Vermelhos Institute. The event aims to bring together short, inspiring talks, featuring experts, community leaders, and creators to share transformative ideas. The Ilhabela edition will focus on socio-environmental and cultural challenges, with topics ranging from bioeconomics and climate change to environmental racism, community-based entrepreneurship, and socio-environmental regeneration. Confirmed speakers include climatologist Carlos Nobre, indigenous educator Cris Takuá, and scientist Aline Gonçalves, as well as quilombola leaders, artists, and impact entrepreneurs.
The archipelago, known for its natural beauty and for being home to one of the most preserved stretches of Atlantic Forest, becomes the stage for an event that connects science, culture, and innovation. Holding the meeting in Ilhabela reinforces the importance of discussing environmental preservation in a territory that experiences, in practice, the dilemmas between development and conservation.
